| The 8th Annual KICKIN' CANCER! 5K Walk/Run & Women's Healthcare Expo is presented by Ralphs.
KICKIN’ CANCER! is a family-friendly event that
brings thousands of like-minded individuals and
companies together from around the country to
raise funds and awareness for ovarian cancer
research and spread a life-saving message about
the importance of early detection and prevention
of ovarian and breast cancers.EVENT HIGHLIGHTS:
- Event Host, Dr. Taryn Rose. As a former orthopedic surgeon turned luxury shoe designer, Dr. Rose is asking others to follow her well-heeled footsteps and help KICK CANCER!
- The FREE Women's Healthcare Expo with information, product samples, and entertainment for the entire family
- The KID's CORNER and KIDDIE FUN RUN sponsored by LA Family Magazine featuring Radio Disney AM 1110, a t-shirt coloring contest, giveaways, and more
- Individual and Team Fundraising Prizes
- Top Female/Male 5K Finisher Prizes
The KIDDIE FUN RUN welcomes children age 10 & under to participate in a run along the official course. Each registered child receives a youth size t-shirt and the chance to win prizes. Stay and play in the KID'S CORNER and enjoy a bounce house, t-shirt coloring contest, giveaways, and much more! KID'S CARE TOO! Each child age 10 & under who raises a minimum of $50 receives a prize. Additional prizes will be awarded to the top fundraisers! Can't participate in the 5K Walk/Run but still want to get involved? Register as a VIRTUAL PARTICIPANT and we will send you the event t-shirt by mail. Virtual Participants can fundraise online as individuals, or as part of a team and WIN prizes! PARKING is available on local streets, or at the West Los Angeles Veteran's Administration for $8. Please bring exact change. We strongly encourage and appreciate carpooling. Carpool with 4 or more passengers to a vehicle and you could WIN 4 COMPLIMENTARY 5K ENTRIES AND VIP PARKING for KICKIN' CANCER! 2010. Simply write the word KICKIN' CANCER! on a 8x11 piece of paper (or larger - GET CREATIVE!) and place on the dash before entering the VA Parking Lot. A secret member of our Staff will be looking for cars with 4 or more passengers displaying creative signs as they enter the lot. If selected, Staff will collect your contact information and you will be entered to win the Grand Prize Package, or one of the many other great prizes from our Sponsors. Good luck! Wear your KICKIN' CANCER! t-shirt on event day for the chance to WIN prizes. Random bib numbers will be announced from the stage throughout the event. Must be present to win.
